Well today has been an odd one. As we only had 25 miles to do and we knew the rain was going to arrive in Kendal for about 2pm we made the decision to leave early and power on up to the campsite just out side Kendal.
Here is the video route for today
Alex had woken early (5am) which is unheard of for Alex. But he put this time to good use and went for a run and had a shower before Bobby or I woke.
Disaster of the day was that we had forgotten to buy some bread so we could not have toast with our porridge. So we have to make do with a banana. Not that bad when sliced in to the porridge.
The Sun came out and we got the wet tents packed away in the sun which was nice for warming up the tired muscles.
Alex Packed all the kit in to the car so we could get our bikes ready.
We were away by 09:30. The earliest we have ever managed.
Bobby and I cycled over the river at Halton. The bridge was very unusual and closed to large vehicles.

We climbed out of the village and found phone signal higher up the hill. The messages rolled in :)

There are a number of large queries.
The down hills continued and we had a few fast runs.
We soon came to run along side the M6. We came over a small bridge where we could see a picturesque image of a canal with the juxtaposition of the M6 in the background.
While standing on the bridge Bobby got chatting to a local lady who was out walking her cat and dog in a pram. Margret Clayton then donated some money to the charity. Thanks Margret. Its amazing the people you chat to.
We ran along the side of the M6 until the Junction to Kendal

Amazing quiet road running along side the M6 |
Time to cross the Motorway |
We could see the rain coming over from the south west on the strong wind so we pushed on.
Just passed the M6 we came across a Gymkhana taking place in a filed just off the road so we stopped to have a wee look
Once we crossed the M6 we were in to some really peaceful leafy lanes.
Alex ran us from Kendal when we still had 10 miles to go. He had got lost in the one way system for 10mins as he had followed our cycle route on his phone and bicycles can go down the one way system were he could not.
About 45 mins later we arrived at the Windermere Caravan and camping site. It was 12:05 so a good run

Quiet for now |
Once we had the tents up and showered the next thing on the hit list was LUNCH!. We had left in the morning and not made any butties to save on time. It was now 1pm and we needed food.
Alex had already done a run to Windermere and said we should go in search of grub there.

And a wee hot chocolate for the Driver. |
Once we had consumed lunch we thought we would have a wee walk down to the lake. Well its a lot further than it looks. About 2 miles. Our legs were a wee bit tired so we needed a but more sustenance

We made the decision to catch the bus back up the town to make it back to the supermarket to ......
buy the BREAD so we can have toast in the morning.
We have returned to the campsite and had a wee snooze and are now sat in the on site pub having a Chicken curry and a beer. Normal life lol.
Well time for us to head to bed so we are ready for a tough up hill leg over shap tomorrow.
Will update again tomorrow
Night
