Day 6. Recovery Day

Wooo Hooo a comfortable Bed. I think I can safely speak for the three of us when I say the comfy bed was bliss. Slept in to 7am.

This will probably be a short post today as we have done very little. Our main aim for today was to let our legs recover from the previous 4 days cycling. With 136 miles covered this day off should make those last 82 miles that much easier.

First thing we needed to do was get the campsite at Moffat booked. The staff at the campsite were great and we are booked in for tomorrow night :0)

Next we needed some food for the day. So a quick (1.5 hours) trip to the shops and we had food for the next three meals. Mostly meat. Had to apologise the the guys that I had forgotten to buy any salad for the BBQ. I could tell they were upset inside but they hid it well ;0) I think the Ice cream eased the blow.

Then on to the washing. So all our smelly clothes would be ready for the cycle tomorrow.
Get it dried the natural way.

Then on to Lunch. We had missed having a fry up for breakfast so we moved it to lunch LOL
Yum Yum Pigs Bum

After the hearty breakfast/Lunch it was off to the beach to walk off the full bellies.
We even managed to get Bobbie to paddle in the water
Careful there. Shoes can be so useful ;0)

Beach-comer Bobby

Knew we would get  him paddling

Collecting drift wood

While on the beach we came across a large group of ladies who were doing the tug of war and what looked like other team building events.
We then saw the logo on the vans they had arrived in.
The tag line is "Drop a dress size and get fit in a week". Yeh! cycle from Gt Harwood to Edinburgh will do the same and you get to raise money for a good cause. LoL

Makes sense now :0)

Back to the van to check the washing and start the bike maintenance after a wee relax in the sun
We can fix it

While we worked on the bikes Alex washed the windows on the van.
Once the bikes were serviced and running smoothly it was back to the sunbathing :0)

We have had to workout new routes for the next two days. Worked out on strava and then loaded in to the Garmin's ready for tomorrow.

Then on to dinner. More meat :0)

After dinner we decided that we should pack the car ready for a quick get away tomorrow
One VW polo and all that stuff and three blokes and two Bikes. Where will it all go???

Well its after 22:30 so time for bed

More tomorrow when we are back on the road cycling from Gretna to Moffat
